Foot bunions are painful conditions that are usually found just behind the big toe which is a malalignment of the great toe joint. Bunions are caused by an abnormally functioning foot. Bunions are not generally caused by tight fitting shoes, as commonly believed.
Who Gets Foot Bunions?
Foot bunions affect men and women in all age groups. Risk factors for developing foot bunions include congenital (present from birth) abnormal formation of the bones of the foot, nerve conditions that affect the foot, rheumatoid arthritis, and injury to the foot.
Treatment For Foot Bunions
Treatments for foot bunions include cortisone injections, changes in shoe gear, orthotics and/or surgery.
