What Does A Podiatric Exam Include?

Whether you are an athlete or you are on your feet all day at work, podiatric ailments can not only cause foot pain, but can also be the root cause for pain in many other areas of your body.

Our podiatric services includes a complete analysis including but not limited to:

• An exam of your entire foot for common podiatric ailments including bunions, hammertoes, heel spurs, fungal toenails, ingrown toenails, and foot warts.

• Arch height can often be associated with the motion of your foot. A full analysis of your arch type along with the pronation of your foot (rotational movement of the foot at the joints) will be performed.

• Measurements of both feet will be taken (Did you know most people’s feet are not equally sized?) to determine the best shoe fit for you. It may sound simple, but you would be shocked to know how many people have relieved their foot and body pain by finally getting the right size shoe!

• Part of our comprehensive podiatric analysis includes a full review of how your foot comes in contact with the floor when you walk or run. Gait analysis can highlight alignment and biomechanical abnormalities as they relate to the foot.

• If you are in need of a custom foot orthotic to change how your foot functions during everyday activities, we can create a mold of your foot and send it to the lab to be custom created.
